Support Worker - Ekweskeet Healing Lodge

The Support Workers will provide client care and ensure client safety according to Ekweskeet Healing 
Lodge Policies and Procedures; as well as perform heavy janitorial duties. Support Workers will provide a stable relaxed, safe environment for clients, maintaining general safety and security. Attend and support clients with weekly NA and AA meetings. Transport clients to community functions when required. 

Job Duties:
• Ensures clients adhere to the ‘Clients Program rules and regulations.
• Provide a stable relaxed, safe environment for clients; ensure clients adhere to house rules.
• Document in the Daily Log Book the status of the clients during the night. 
• Provide support, listen, and document for clients during the night if required.
• Assist clients with their homework where appropriate.
• Prepare breakfast as per posted menu for clients; Complete morning routines, i.e., waking the clients etc.
• Supervise the clients and ensure the morning, afternoon and evening chores are completed.
• To aid the clients in self-administering medications if needed.
• Must ensure accurate monthly reporting is complete.
• Ensure the constant availability of sanitary supplies to staff and clients.
• Sanitize staff and client’s bathrooms as described in the Ekweskeet Infection Control Policy.
• Clean common areas and frequently touched objects.
Job Skills & Qualifications: 
• Grade 12 Diploma minimum.
• Certificate/Diploma in addictions support or related Human Services field an asset.
• Capacity to establish professional relationships with residential clients and maintain clear boundaries.
• Awareness and knowledge of the impact of the Residential School Experience.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in the human services field with adults.
• Up-to date First Aid, CPR, and ASIST preferred.
• Basic typing skills; Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Live an addictions free lifestyle; Fluency in the Cree language is a strong asset.
• Strong work ethics and capacity to maintain confidentiality.
