Position: Security (2)	Department: Public Works
Job Classification: Full-Time (Safety Sensitive)	Reports to: Director of Public Works

Job Summary: The Security Officer is responsible for monitoring and protecting Public Works facilities, assets, employees, and visitors on Onion Lake Cree Nation. This position provides security services through regular patrols, incident reporting, emergency response support, and communication with emergency services when required. The Security Officer maintains confidentiality, promotes a safe and secure environment, adheres to all organizational policies and procedures, and performs other duties as assigned by the Director or Associate Director of Public Works.

Responsibilities:

Follow all radio and emergency communication procedures, including reporting to the R.C.M.P. when required
Ensure all safety and emergency response procedures are followed at all times
Conduct hourly monitoring of all Onion Lake Public Works buildings during assigned shifts
Provide conflict resolution and de-escalation when required
Ensure emergency vehicles and work areas are kept clean, safe, and orderly at all times
Provide stationary security coverage at assigned posts as directed

Qualifications:

Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent education
Knowledge of Fire, Rescue, and Peacekeeping methods and procedures
Strong anger management and conflict resolution skills
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
