Job Summary: The Onion Lake Public Works department is currently seeking applicants to fulfill the position of the receptionist/dispatcher. This individual is responsible for organizing and coordinating office operations and procedures. This includes managing the operations of the front desk and providing support in a fast-paced, high-call-volume office environment. The individual reports to the Director of Public Works and is responsible for providing services to the general public.
Responsibilities:
Greet visitors and clients in an appropriate manner and direct them to the appropriate employee or office location.
Answer a high volume of calls while maintaining an appropriate response time.
Take messages for employees.
Maintain and update staff availability and employee attendance logs (sign-in/sign-out).
Operate a variety of standard office equipment including photocopier, fax machine, and time clock.
Maintain and organize the public bulletin board (postings).
Advise the immediate supervisor of all concerns related to front desk operations.
Daily pick-up of mail at the OLCN Admin Office and/or Post Office.
Use radios and/or telephones to dispatch trucks and provide accurate directions for deliveries and pick-ups.
Enter and file data accurately and in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Completed High School Diploma or equivalent.
Perform other duties as required.
Office experience is an asset.
Excellent customer service/communication skills.
Ability to speak Cree is an asset.
