Job Summary: The Livestreaming Supervisor leads the planning, coordination and delivery of high-quality livestream productions for Onion Lake Cree Nation. This position supports the Public Relations Department by ensuring community events, leadership updates, ceremonies, sports, meetings and special projects are captured and shared in a professional, respectful and timely manner. The role supervises livestream staff, coordinates equipment and schedules, maintains production standards, supports training, and works with departments to help OLCN tell its own stories through reliable multimedia coverage.

Responsibilities: 

  • Plan, coordinate and supervise livestream productions for events, meetings, community updates, sports, ceremonies and special projects.

  • Lead pre-production planning including event intake, run-of-show, staffing, equipment lists, platform setup, graphics, internet/power needs and risk checks.

  • Supervise the Livestream Producer, Camera Operators, Livestream Technician and assigned production crew.

  • Ensure professional production quality including clear audio, stable video, appropriate camera coverage, respectful conduct and accurate public-facing information.

  • Coordinate with departments, event leads, emcees, leadership and the Public Relations team to confirm schedules, permissions, messaging and posting requirements.

  • Maintain livestream equipment, cameras, audio gear, encoders, Starlink/internet tools, generators, tripods, cables and production supplies.

  • Support training, coaching and performance feedback for livestream staff and new crew members.

  • Ensure livestream recordings, photos, b-roll and final files are saved, labelled and archived in an organized manner.

  • Prepare production reports, attendance notes, equipment logs, analytics and follow-up recommendations after major events.

  • Follow OLCN policies, cultural protocols, confidentiality expectations, safety requirements and the direction of the Director of Public Relations.

  • Work may require lifting, carrying and setting up cameras, tripods, cables, audio gear, generators and internet equipment.

  • Must be able to work in indoor/outdoor event settings, around crowds, weather changes, noise and time-sensitive live production demands.

  • Must maintain confidentiality, professionalism, cultural respect and safe work practices at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent; post-secondary education or training in media production, broadcasting, communications, technology or a related field is an asset.

  • Experience coordinating livestreams, video production, broadcasting, event coverage, audio/visual setup or multimedia production.

  • Experience supervising staff, scheduling crews, assigning tasks and supporting team accountability.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for events is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of cameras, audio, switchers/encoders, internet connectivity, lighting, livestream platforms and basic troubleshooting.

  • Ability to plan productions, create run-of-show documents, manage timelines and respond calmly during live events.

  • Strong communication, leadership, organization and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work respectfully with Chief and Council, departments, Elders, youth, community members and external partners.

  • Understanding of confidentiality, cultural protocols, consent, privacy and respectful community storytelling.

  • Ability to lift and transport production equipment, work evenings/weekends when required, and adapt to changing event conditions.

  • Basic computer skills including Google Drive/file management, email, spreadsheets, production logs and social media/livestream platforms.
