Term of Office

Each Board Member will serve a term of no longer than three (3) years.


Responsibilities of the Board Member

  • Be responsible for the development of policies to be submitted to Chief and Council for approval.

  • Screen Housing applications and make selections for new housing units.

  • Review occupancy of Onion Lake Cree Nation members in existing accommodation and make decisions accordingly.

  • Comply with the Onion Lake Cree Nation personnel policies/procedure manual and the Housing Authority procedure personnel manual, as amended.

  • Conflict of Interest Rule: The candidate cannot sit on more than one board. To avoid possible conflicts of interest, immediate family shall not sit on the same board concurrently.


Qualifications

  • Must be a member of Onion Lake Cree Nation.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must be in good standing with the community.

  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

  • Must have good communication skills.
