Reports to: FRP Supervisor & Fire Chief 
Job Summary: Onion Lake FRP is seeking applications to fulfill (4) Fire, Rescue, and Peacekeepers. The main functions of the Fire, Rescue, Peacekeeper shall be responsible toobserve and monitor activities in the areas of community buildings, businesses, and roads providing safety to the Onion Lake Cree Nation. Report potential conflicts or suspicious situations and follow procedures and protocols to request emergency services. Responsible for relaying information and messages to and from emergency sites, determining the nature and location of the emergency if first on the scene or directed by the Fire Chief. It is very important to maintain confidentiality in all operations and ensure FRP is represented in a positive manner within the community. 
Responsibilities:
• Respond to all Emergencies including Fire, Automobile, Industrial, and others. 
• Assist victims from burning buildings, and accident sites.
• Control and extinguish fires using manual and rescue equipment.
• Administer First Aide and control the environment.
• Ensure proper orientation on Fire Fighting equipment.
• Educate the public on the responsibilities of the Fire, Rescue & Peacekeepers.
• Maintain a level of physical fitness and endurance
• Assist the Public, Police and Emergency Services.
• Assist as members of Trauma or Emergency Services during times of major disasters and/or humanitarian aid.
• Assists as members of Trauma or Emergency Response Team to provide Paramedical Aid to aacident victims. 
• May supervise and coordinate the work of other Fire Fighters at the direction of the Fire Chief.
• Document and record nature of injuries and treatment provided.
• All duties required approval from unit leaders or safety of workers.
• Follow all radio and emergency procedures including reporting to the RCMP as needed.
• Respond to all emergencies within Onion Lake Cree Nation lands and/or other jurisdictions as required. 
Skills and Qualifications: 
• Minimal Grade 12 equivalent and knowledge/ability related to Fire, Rescue & Peacekeeper methods 
and procedures
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays (Shift 
work)
• Communication, writing, and reading skills
• The applicant must have the following tickets (or be willing to further training to acquire such skills) 
WHIMIS, H2S, TDG, CSTS, EMR & First Aide CPR Level C, Hazmat, AED
• Security Training is a definite asset
• Anger management and conflict resolution management skills
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License
