Position: Administrative Assistant/Programmer
Department: OLHBI Child & Youth Home
Job Classification: (safety sensitive) Reports to: Program Coordinator
Job Summary: The Administrative Assistant/ Programmer will assist the Coordinator with administrative duties; provide ongoing support and respond as needed to clients in school. The Admin Assistant/Programmer will be part of a team that will continue on-going development of the Child & Youth Care Home programming through continual learning, 
creative thinking and culturally relevant activities. The Admin Assistant /Programmer will focus on wholistic needs of each youth from the physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional perspective with program delivery. 
Job Duties:
• Filing, documents and reports; On call duties after hours.
• Develop therapeutic programs for clients, and or group sessions.
• Coordinate and plan for summer camps, bring guess speakers into the program.
• Assist with cultural coordinator for activities; Report to the schools when necessary. 
• Review and forward all documentation that is required from schools to appropriate Supervisors. 
• Check vans for cleanliness; maintain and service company vehicles, gas gauge, oil changes etc.
• Transport youth to appointments when necessary.
• Ensure that communication is clear and concise between the referring agencies, families, and staff.
• Participate in and carry out extra curricular activities over and above normal work hours.
• Carry out other work-related duties as requested by immediate Supervisor.
Job Qualifications & Skills: 
• Valid Driver’s License, Driver’s abstract, Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Social Work Degree and/or Certificate or a related degree in the Human Service Field or a combination or related 
training and experience.
• Minimum of two years supervisory experience.
• Current certificate in First Aid/CPR.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; Strong leadership qualities. 
• Ability in working with children/youth and their families; Ability to be a role model in a healthy lifestyle.
• Strong understanding of First Nations Culture, History and Traditions. 
• Previous experience working in a First Nation.
